Alexander Politov, Executive Director

Alexander Politov is Executive Director and member of the Managing Board of Reason Institute. He holds BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from the American University in Bulgaria, MA in Political Science from the Central European University, Budapest, and PhD in Political Science from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Alexander Politov has extensive experience in project development and management. He has been Program Coordinator and Coordinator of the Regional Program at the Bulgarian School of Politics (2003 – 2010). He has worked at the Political Academy for Central and Southeastern Europe on a project “Political Programs and Platforms Issued in Bulgaria during the Transition Period: a Comparative Study” (2003 - 2010). In the period 1997 – 2002 he has held consecutively the positions of assistant at the International Department, International Secretary and Internal Policy Secretary of the Union of Democratic Forces. He has also been Assistant at the office of the Minister of Justice and European Legal Integration (1997 – 1998). Languages spoken: English. Assoc. Prof. Svetoslav Malinov, Editor–in–chief, journal REASON

Svetoslav Malinov holds MA degrees in Political Science (Sofia University) and in Political Philosophy (University of York, UK) and PhD in Political Science (Sofia University). He has specialized in political theory and history of political thought in Norway, Italy, the USA, and Great Britain. He is currently Associate Professor and teaches history of political ideas at the Sofia University. He is editor-in-chief of the Reason, a theoretical journal of politics and culture. Dr. Malinov is an author of numerous publications and translations in the field of political theory. He has been member of parliament and member of the Program Council and the Advisory Board of the Bulgarian School of Politics. At present he is Member of the European Parliament.

Kina Andreeva is philologist. She has worked as Director of the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy. She has been Member of Parliament in the 39th National Assembly, and expert at the State Administration Parliamentary Committee (40th National Assembly). Presently, she is Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Prosveta Publishing House. Mrs. Andreeva is author of textbooks and translator of fiction and scientific literature, as well as author of numerous publications in the press.

Albena Nacheva, office manager

Albena Nacheva has graduated from the Theatrical College “Lyuben Groice” in 1997. In the period 1998 – 2007 she has worked as an actress at the Dramatic Puppet Theater “Vassil Droumev” in the town of Shoumen. From 2007 until the beginning of 2010, she has been office manager of the Bulgarian School of Politics. At the moment she is office manager of the Reason Institute.
